Does this car actually have DHP?
Hey guys,
Searching for an F10 to buy with DHP. This seller says it has DHP but when I put the VIN into the decoder it only has adaptive drive, but not dynamic drive or dynamic damper control. I can't tell if the vin decoder is wrong or if their window sticker is wrong or I am misunderstanding... https://www.nyautogallery.com/used/B...817bab2794.htm https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/du73354 |

In this rare instance, you are mistaken. My xDrive has dynamic dampers and active role stabilization. I ordered it this way from the factory. OP, just in case you didn't already know this, on non-xDrives, the 704 sport suspension was available, but it does not constitute the DHP but rather a static, sport-tuned suspension.

I thought so too, but when I look at another example it lists more options in the VIN decoder: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/du58758
For example, this vin decoder lists dynamic drive and dynamic dampers, while the original vin decoder I listed only lists 2VA. The fact they are different has me worried.. |

BMW is known for making changes during the production run. An option could be offered as a stand-alone at one point, then gets incorporated into a package later...or could be not offered as a stand-alone but only available as a package. For example, the SVA package includes multiple options that may have been stand alone on earlier versions. If you do a search for the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 BMW F10 pricing and ordering guide PDFs it may reveal the mystery or confusion you're running across.

FYI: just as suspected...looks like BMW changed the bundling nomenclature of the DHP (dynamic handling package).
On early ordering & pricing guides...DHP nomenclature and bundled option codes are: ZJY - Dynamic Handling PackageThen later the DHP nomenclature & bundling changed to: ZDH - Dynamic Handling Package

Any chance you can get under the car, you will be able to figure this out very quickly. Look for wires coming out of the bottom of the shocks/a little module arrached to the bottom of the shocks, and if you try to peek through the under cover while looking at the sway bar, you’ll see a big cylinder in almost the middle of the sway bar again with a wire/harness going to it. If you have those two things, you have BMWs best suspension(according to them).
