CIC and CarPlay?

Yea that's the thing with these aftermarket kits, they come from China and the translated instructions are very off. And I did the same thing with mine. Works very well for the price and not having to shell out a lot to have to get the newer head unit.

AVINUSA has a new 12.3" popout Android screen that makes it look a lot like the newer model BMW. The touchscreen would be a lot easier use too since it's not recessed in the dashboard.

Update: My car build in MIC works. No EXT MIC needed.

Still working with ios14? Very interested in this. How’s it working so far? Any issues?

It works well with my iPhone 6.

In general I am happy with it except it randomly reboots itself. When it reboot, you loose the screen for about 10~12 seconds. I mostly use the Waze map on it.

Check this out, I think the recommended products have better updated SW.

I have 2011 535i xdrive trying to figure out if I have CIC or NBT my home screen has the CD/Multimedia with Connect Drive on the list, would like to add car play just don’t know which system to get..any help?

CIC. NBT was (I believe) mid-2013 to 2016.

CIC. NBT was (I believe) mid-2013 to 2016.

Correct. 2011-2012 had CIC.

hi I have installed the MMI interface, but still problems. When switching from carplay screen to BMW screen and back (using the menu of the idrive-pushing for 3 secs) , MMI switch all the time back to the Menu of the MMI (not android auto menu)
Somebody has an idea what this is ?

cic until 7/2012. you can see this with on the BMW menu view.

You may need to have them update the software in your MMI unit. Doesn't take long at all if you've never done it. Just my email them.
