NikMN Was it tricky to remove the wiper blade arms at all? I got my cowl in the house waiting to do the exact same thing!

So I accidentally installed a new Carplay unit today. Yes, accidentally.....

I ordered the unit linked below thinking it was just a screen. I wanted to upgrade to a touchscreen. Turns out it's the entire module packed into a screen instead of the usual carplay box. Removed my box I bought last year and I have more functionality through just the screen for half the price. Highly recommend this route as it's easier and takes up less space behind the stock headunit. The touch functions work great and I can easily switch back to idrive when needed.

With that being said, I'll have a slightly used carplay box for sale soon.....

Pretty simple I would say. It took me maybe 30 minutes, but I've done this several times back to my F30 days. There was some coding I had to do in Bimmercode specific to my setup but that's an android thing. Not required if using iPhone. It's not hard, just looks a mess while you're doing it. It's maybe 4 connections to make

This looks good. I have a 15 550i. Does the HUD and steering wheel controls still work?

The last time I tried this type of unit, it was horribly laggy when panning around the map. How is this particular one?

Pretty smooth. After working with a a few of these units, I will say the age of the unit+age of your phone makes a big difference.

The newer the unit and the newer the phone, the better your performance. I'd recommend getting a new unit every few years because the processors get that much faster and more efficient

Today, I installed an RW Carbon M Sport DTM Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser. The installation was relatively easy. To properly align and fit the diffuser, I had to remove the rear bumper.

The original diffuser had clips, but the carbon fiber one came with straight pins. To ensure it stayed aligned, I used the provided self-tapping screws to secure the pins in place.

Overall, I’m pleased with the look. I was initially concerned about how it would pair with the stock trapezoid exhaust tips, but it turned out great.

I drove this car like i stole it constantly during the pandemic with all the EMPTY bay area roads! with my mission performance engine/trans tune - which was giving me a lot of issues as the miles piled on + probably accelerated wear on the various components. I pulled that tune after the car hit around 55k miles!

She's at 96k miles, and running like a champ, just in time for the cooler bay area weather (was 45F this morning)

2014 dinan stage 3 550i (Intake / Intercoolers / Tune / Dinan m5 mufflers + m5 comp package exhaust / Suspension SW) m343 wheels / v12 7 series front big brake kit.

in the last 10k miles the following was refreshed.

8 new plugs (oem)
8 new Dinan Coilpacks
8 new eu6 Fuel Injectors (2 were failing)
4 new Vanos Solenoids
4 new Camp Position Sensors
4 new O2 Sensors
2 new MAF Sensors
2 HPFP + 2 cam followers
Turbo Coolant lines
Front Brakes / Rotors (rear ones up next)
Front Control arms / Lower tension bars

Tried to grab some pics with the full moon last week!

I'm not planning on selling it for a few more years...

Ideally i want to replace it with something that has more cylinders and older

and a GOOD electric car as a DD (IE NOT TESLA)

She's back down to driving only on longer freeway trips...within the bay area...

I like your thinking!

F10 is such a good freeway cruiser... even more so with a V8's purr!
