This is a timely video. If you all are not aware, Rich Benoit is the personality behind the Youtube channel Rich Rebuilds. He's gained fame for piecing together a functional Model S from two salvaged ones with no prior EV experience. He's gone on to do a bunch of crazy outlandish projects and launched his own EV repair shop called Electrified Garage. The video he just put out goes into the challenges and economics around replacing EV batteries (primarily focused on Teslas) from a EV repair shop owner's perspective.

He did bring up some things that I didn't even think of concerning the EV market. He said more and more people are purposely doing insurance fraud by purposely crashing their vehicles to total them out or vandalizing them. Of course you know what that'll do to insurance rates on these types of vehicles. This is outside of the insurance companies charging more due to higher repair costs with EVs or with the risk of EV fires. The other issue he brought up is in the used/auction market. What looks to be a perfectly fine car that seems to only need body repairs will actually be more when the new owner discovers the battery is shot too.
