Audio Input Display
Hey folks, 2012 528i here. My daughter has been using the car a lot lately and she usually plugs in the phone via USB in the arm rest and plays her music (Spotify mostly). I have noticed the display doesn't change most of the time when the song does, then sometimes it will change. And I'm taking about both the album art and the name of the song/artist on the display. Is there any way to fix this? Is there a software update (assuming mine is still the original), and how would I get it?
Thanks |

I have kinda similar problem with IOS 14.4. When I am connected to the car with Bluetooth the name of the songs aren't showing on iDrive display nor on instrument cluster or head up display. But when I am connected with android everything works fine. I guess it is problem with IOS 14.4

So, I removed my phone from the BT list and checked off the boxes for Telephone and Audio in the BT settings for my daughters phone, and had her connect audio via BT and song display seems to be working properly now.
Here's the rub, I'll be using the car once a week and do want to have the BT functionality when I'm in it, even just for the phone and phone book. So I added my phone back into the BT and marked it as Additional Phone. It didnt connect, but connected when I selected Telephone (but not Audio). What does Additional Phone mean then? How should I configure my phone and my daughters so they work properly? We both use our own key fobs. Sometimes we are in the car together (if she's driving using her Fob), and both phones are in the car and she is using her phone for audio. Its confusing, or I'm not doing it correctly. Thanks! |
