2011 F10 front suspension noise/creak
For the last 8 months, I have had a suspension creak in the front for the first 5-10 min of driving. It is easiest to hear over small bumps out of the driveway. It occurs whether it is hot or cold outside. I took it to my BMW dealer 6 months ago and they could not find a source. They assured me they did not see anything broken or worn out. I searched Bimmerpost and could not find a similar thread, but I did find one on bimmerforums without an answer.
https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...Says-is-Normal I purchased my vehicle new and have 48k miles on it. |

Not normal. But it could be something minor or something major. I would be interested to know how it might differ if you went over the speed bump with just the left side or just the right side. It could be the front sway bar bushing or a link and nothing more, for instance. or it could be a broken or improperly assembled plastic component under the car rubbing on the sway bar as it moves.
Any mods? |

No mods. The stabilizer bushing idea sounds like it may be it. Any idea the cost to replace? In comparing again today, the video link is actually more dramatic than what I am hearing. Mine is more with smaller suspension movements when cold like the lip at the end of the driveway and tight turns on pavers. Larger bumps don't seem to make it worse than the smaller ones.

I'll add a link here if I dig it up. You could also pull it apart and throw some silicone grease (must be silicone, petrochemical based grease attacks rubber) between the bushing and the bar and see if it quiets down. Why replace it if it just needs a squirt of lube? Again - depends on how comfortable you are working on it. It's not a regular "maintenance" item to have to lube those bushings so the question would remain - why yours? why now? |

I have some noises as well. I replaced the control arms and sway bar links and the noise is still there. To isolate I disconnected the sway bar links and the noise was gone so front sway bar bushings it is BUT dealer DOES NOT SELL THE BUSHINGS. They sell just the whole assembly with a new sway bar, brackets and bushings. It's ridiculous.

I had this problem and they were wheel bearings and got them replaced under good will from BMW back in the day... Good will was due to me keep taking car to the dealer and they couldn't figure it out for a while and than warranty/maintenance ran out lol.
