new wheels

hey guy's i'm new on the forum
my name is Benny and i drive a f10 520D lci model from 2016

i would like to buy new wheels... i realy love the JR 28.
these only come in 8.5Jx20 and 10Jx20

i have read sooooooooooooooooooooo many forums alreay that i can't be sure any more, hence my next question if i buy the JR 28 what would be the perfect flush offset ?

i realy like when the wheels are even with the fenders(like not sticking out but also not going inwards) i think it is called aggressive stance ? or flush set up ? (correct me when i'm wrong)

so if i buy 8.5Jx20 for the front and 10Jx20 for the rear what would be the best offset for me ?

i also realy like strech tires (notting extreem, but realy realy subtle)
for that i would put 225/35R20 on the 8.5 and 255/30R20 on the 10J
would that give me a little strech ?

my car is lowerd on KW V1
also prio is no rubbing(rather 1 or 2 mm inwards and 100% no rubbing then 1mm more out and it rubs on the fenders)

atm the shop recommends me
8.5J Et 30
10J ET 30

should these be changed or not ?

Welcome to the forum brother! I was just on the serach for the perfect fitment and now that my car project is over for the season this is what i learned.

Im running 21 in Rohanna RFX7 thats 9 inches wide in the front with an offset of +20 with 245/35/21 tires. Im not super slammed to the ground but i am on coilovers thats at about the 18 setting for rebound and compression; it isnt a terrible ride but it for sure is stiff. (i prefer it that way) I dont experience any rub at all. so for the front your fine.

the back is 10.5 wide with a +30 offset wrapped in 285/30/21 tires. I tried to go with a super low stance like people who run a tucked setup but its a nogo with my offset. It rode really nice but on hard changes in the road it scraped. So i had to raise it about a half an inch. If it was +35 instead of +30 i could of gotten away with it being that low beacouse at +30 it scraped literally on the VERY EDGE of the tire. with that being said. The fitment is VERY flush with the tire tucked slightly ANY offset higher than +30 i have can tuck without rubbing with some camber. (not ridiculous camber like instagram boys, but a nice classy negative camber)

to use my setup compared to yours

your 10 +30 equals to 10.5 +36 which will clear with some camber. +40 will clear no issues without slight camber but may look a teeny tiny bit tucked.
yout 8.5 +30 equals 9 +36 which will clear no problem being i can clear with a wider wheel and lower offset.

Tires are important as well. fatter tires may not tuck as my setup did so keep that in mind.

My setup is literally on the line for flush and low without rubbing; Ill take some pictures and report back as well. Hope it helps!

thx for the reply !

so if i'm reading your stuff here
i should be able to go
8.5J ET 20 (they won't go lower then 20) on front ? won't that stick out ? maybe take ET 25 ?
10J ET 30 would be good then ? since yours rubs a little ? or should i go for 10J ET 25 ?

remeber the width of your wheel drasticly changes how offset affects your tuck or poke. A 9 wide wheel at +20 offset would be the equivelent of an 8.5 +14. so hell no you wont poke lol. 8.5 +20 might give you a little bit of tuck actually. As for your back go NO lower the +30 anthing more would poke too much. +30 is right on the line.

Im able to go +30 due to the German motorsport shop i go to installed and aligned my setup then drove it and made small adjustments. +35 would be less of a headache imo. If you have a shop you actually trust than the +30 look is SOOOOOO dope. its super flush with a teeny tiny bit of poke (thats how i like it beacouse im on coils and not bags) it also limits to how far you can slam it to the ground. Ill send you photos first thing; stay posted.

Ps. Modded F10's are SUPER rare beacouse the young kids resonate to 3 and 4 series while the dads and suits drive 5 and 7 series. When a F10 is done right it brings about alot of attention and turns heads. So i really hope you get the look you want!

Flyguyin23 is familiar with my setup but I wanted to share my custom setup as well to give you a little more insight on my offsets as well as a F10 sitting on KWV1 coilovers. I was able to perfectly get the offsets needed for my aggressive stance

21x9.5 30mm and 21x11 38mm rears on 255\30r21 and 295\25r21

do a little more research before pulling the trigger on your wheels

Isturbointeg has the holy grail offset with 9.5 wide front and 11 wide back. Both of our setups are VERY similar and hes on KWV and I'm in BC. My setup is the limit as far as nice fitment goes. His setup is what tour looking for without dialing everything 100% and still be very aggressive. Remmib has the best classy fitment with that's not as aggressive as either my or Isturbo's.

dude those rims

thx both of you for the info so far...
i've looked up alot of the topics here, but most seem to drive an 9 and 10.5
wich gives different offsets

ok so if i get you ...
8.5J ET 20 should be ok for flush ? maybe even spacer ?
10J ET30 should also be verry good for flush ?

how do you like the strech on my tires ?
225 and 255 ? to little strech to much ?

They will fit just fine. Use spacers to get it exactly where you want. Easy peasy. Without spacers they'll tuck nicely. If you want super flush add spacers and experiment.

I had a bad experience with stretched tires so I dont run that route any more. 255 on a 10 wide is a hard stretch. To be safe 265-275 would be best in the back. As far as front 225-235 is where you wanna be.

Usually wheel companies will make one set of offsets for each make and model and call it a day so if that's the case go with what they have and if anything you could always run spacers
With the specs you're giving hopefully remmib will chime in to say yes or nay

This! I would wait on the spacers that way you can adjust your coilovers and decide if you want a flush or poke look

BTW Sylfer, do you have a picture of those wheels?

so i should keep the ET 30 front and rear like the shop suggests ? and use spacers ?

or should i change it maybe just a little like
Front ET 25 and then use smaller spacers ?

or go for front Et 20 and work with smaller spacers ?

aren't spacers like bad for your car ? or only in big sizes ?

the rear i'll leave at ET 30.

More than likely this won't be a one shot move. Its gonna take some experimenting. I was fender to tire at first bit rubbed on hard change of the road. It was fender to lip but it gave me no room for my suspension to absorb some hits. So now In the back I am exactly one finger high and in the front its fender to tire. I don't rub at all and and lock the front wheels either way without rubbing

I assume you will lower the car quite a bit since you're getting kwv1. That mean the fronts camber in a far bit. So with 8.5" front and only 225 tires a rather go et20 than et30.

Nope. If my 9 wide +20 wont poke your 8.5+ 20 has zero chance of poking.

ok starting to get there

so i should take
8.5J et 20 and 225/35 R20 for minor strech look(maybe spacer for flush ?) or go for ET 25 and use spacer to get the look i want ?

10J ET 30 and 265/30 R20 for same strech look(maybe spacer aswell if it's realy inwards) ot go for 35ET and use a spacer to make sure there is no rubbing ? and get the look i want ?
or keep the 255/30 R20 ? going for same strech fornt and rear...
tires are nankang ns2 for strech ?

this will be a better fit ?
