Supagard - Worth the money?

New to the forum.

Just ordered F11 525d SE Imperial Blue, delivery due December (hopefully!). Dealer is offering Supagurd exterior/interior protection for £399 !! Is this worth paying out for?

They sell similar things here in the states and I'm sure on every other continent and if you search through the threads you'll find that most people think it's a waste of money. Myself included.

The only possible thing such a price would gain you is a warranty. But realistically, the chance of you having some kind of paint failure that BMW won't cover with their own warranty is pretty remote. You're better off saving money and applying a paint sealant yourself. Unfortunately, the O.P. is in the U.K., so I don't know where you can purchase such an item.

In the U.S. I've used Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 and Blackfire Wet Diamond. Both are nice paint sealants. You can spend way less and get multiple applications by doing it yourself.

For the interior carpets, just apply Scotchguard if you're worried.

Definitely not; do a google search for vehicle detailers in you area and they will supply equivalent products which you can apply yourself at a cost of around £30.

I twister the dealer's arm so I got it thrown in for free - otherwise I wouldn't have paid for it.

That's not a bad result, for free it's worth having!

A word of caution though. Don't expect miracles with the interior treatment. The product is very much like ScotchGuard and will wear off on areas that get heavy use such as the drivers seat base and back. In my business we always say ScotchGuard is great if you never walk on it or sit on it.

For 399 pounds (that's like $16,000US according to Jeremy Clarkson) I'll fly to England and wax your car for you!

Skip it. A good coat of wax and keeping your leather clean is the best protection you can have.
