Not sure why you're asking this on a 5 series forum (based on the car info listed along the left side of the page)...if your car is heavily optioned with electronics and you have auto start/stop...I would recommend the higher AH (amp hour) battery.
Don't forget you'll not only need to register the new battery...but also recode for a battery that has a higher AH rating than what came out of the vehicle. If you don't do this...it will probably lessen the life of your new battery. Good luck. Here's some links that explain why you need to register new batteries:

I'd (and did) go with the higher Ah battery.

Yes. The coding needs to be changed so that the DME will accommodate the charging of a lesser amp hour battery. If any parameters of the battery changes...then the charging system needs to be recoded so that the system will adjust accordingly to those changes.
Here's a link to a very comprehensive thread that goes into details about registering/coding BMW batteries: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1338302

At 49,000 miles and 3.5 years the dealer, under warranty, replaced my battery. Its a diesel so it probably uses more battery power but I don't use the start/stop function much at all.

Just replace it with the same capacity as the original battery. It was sufficient out of the factory, it is sufficient now, unless you have added a whole bunch of accessories that drain on the battery.

My feed back is that you're not making a wise decision. You may be saving a few dollars buying the underpowered wet-cell battery...but based on the electronic consumption of your BMW...an AGM battery and one with higher AH rating is what you should select. You didn't give us your model (not that I remember) nor your location...so we can't make any judgements as to what type of weather (extreme cold or extreme heat) you'll be encountering. But you should be looking for a 49/H8 AGM or 94R/H7 AGM battery class size. See the chart below for battery specs in regards to battery class sizes. Unless you are in a really remote location...you should be able to find a 49/H8 or 94R/H7 AGM battery at your local auto part stores (AutoZone/Advanced Auto/Pep Boys/O'Reilly's/etc)...or even your local Walmart/Sam's Club/Costco. I believe my local Sam's club sells a Duracell 49/H8 AGM battery for around $180: (these pics were from 2015 @ Sam's Club...prices have gone up a bit)

Why you should replace with an AGM battery:
Introduction In September 2002, the first so-called VRLA batteries, better known as AGM batteries came into use. (VRLA stands for Valve Regulated Lead Acid, i.e. lead-acid battery with pressure relief valve; AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat, i.e. absorbent glass-fibre fleece). The constantly increasing energy demand of modern vehicle electrical systems calls for ever more powerful battery solutions. A modern luxury-class vehicle has some 100 actuator motors that have to be fed with electrical current. Added to these are safety, environmental and comfort elements which are increasingly becoming standard features, such as e.g. Antilock Brake System (ABS), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), steering assistance (EPS), electronic chassis and suspension control, air conditioning and navigation system. Current consumption is considerable even when the vehicle is not in use. The somewhat higher price compared with a battery of similar size is fully balanced by the following benefits:

If you go non-AGM, where are you going to vent the gases from the battery? On cars that came with AGM batteries there is no battery vent system to take hydrogen (from charging) and other battery gases out of the cabin.

Ah...thanks for this info...it does help paint a better picture.
But as Surly73 mentions about venting the battery...if yours is located in the trunk (enclosed)...then you will need to vent the battery. Check to see if your car has a vent tube and a little black elbow that connects the tube to the battery. Since you have a model that isn't sold in the USA market...is the battery in the engine bay? If it is...then there's enough air circulation to move any gases expelled by the battery away. But if it is enclosed in the trunk...then it needs to be vented. The 1st pic below is a pic of the vent tube from an e38 7 series...but every BMW I've owned where the battery was installed either below the rear seat or in the trunk...has had the same vent tube set-up: {vent tube hooked up to battery in my e53 X5 on left side in pic below}

AGM's also vent. ALL batteries vent, at least some. IIRC, the stock AGM battery has a vent tube.
