What is this?

On the rear parcel shelf (if you can call it a shelf on a saloon!) there is a plastic slot that looks like a seatbelt buckles into it - does anyone know what it does?

Just curious!

Probably means you have split/folding rear seats which is a rare option. To use them you need to disconnect 1 part of the central safety belt at the seat base and plug it in here to allow the seat backrest to fold down.

Aha!
That sounds very plausible, I will take a look.

Thanks

Is it something to do with when you fit a baby/child seat in the back? I thought it acts as a top tether or something...

This.

Keeps the belt safely out of the way, when you fold the seats.

Thanks all, I do have the folding seats - although you can still fold them down without disconnecting the belt this does seem a good option if carrying a big load.

Hi everyone.

Im new to the forum as you can see. i need some advice before i purchase my first F10. Its a 525d m sport 2011. But it doesn't have the flappy paddle's on the steering wheel and the sport, comfort button on the centre console. Nor a reversing camera.

Is this common on these cars? as I have seen this on lots of other 2011 F10's? was this an optional extra at factory? sorry im a newbie and need some guidance.

kind regards Kaz

sorry for hijacking a thread. i cant post a thread because im new.

I think there is a waiting period.
As for the options, yes they are options.
Bare bones seems to be more common in Europe.
Just keep searching.

Rear camera is a very nice option to have.
Flappy paddles is a gimmick IMO and I hardly ever use them.
Even folding mirrors are an option and you really should have that too on a car as wide as this. Should be standard and is mean of BMW not to include as such.
I think it is mad that folding rear seats is an option on the F10.

^^^This. There are plenty of cars that come up. Wait for the right one or you will kick yourself afterwards.
