BMW factory extended warranty
I am looking to get 6 or 7 yrs 100K miles gold or platinum extended warranty for my 2015 535xi. I drive about 22K miles/year currently, but down the road I am planning to get 2nd car, which is the reason I am looking at 6 or 7 years warranties.
1. Is platinum warranty premium over gold worth it? 2. how much I can expect to pay for one of these warranties Thank you for your help |

It is a matter of opinion of what you want covered.
Prices are going to vary considerably. I hear Greg Poland at Pacific BMW is the best. He may not be in your area but it doesn't have to be purchased locally. |

Yes he's sold BMW extensions nationwide for years.

I personally got a MAP extended warranty from my BMW Advisor. I have already used the warranty at the BMW dealer after I noticed some oil leaking. It was a couple grand cheaper than the BMW one.
If you are going to get it, get the highest tier warranty possible; not matter what company from. |

What's the average cost of the warranties anyways?
Our 2014 535's cpo warranty is ending this summer. We're trying to hit 60k as well before our service package ends. How much would it be for the 100k / 5 years warranty at BMW or route 6 be around? |

My Route 66 warranty (about which I have posted separately) was $2,700 to take the car up to 100,000 miles, or 5 years I think, whichever comes first.

I could be wrong, but I thought that BMW's factory extended warranty plans are only available while the car is still under the original factory warranty? So it could be that third party (like Route 66) might be your only option at this point.
Correction: I was wrong, you can extend from a CPO. Here's the brochure. |
