These transmissions have torque converters which can "release", slip or lock. The googleable term is "Neutral Idle Control". A delay in neutral idle control engaging the TC and allowing power through the system will cause a delay like you're seeing.

BTW, again, this is exactly like the software complaints of old. Fluid and flow issues can also mess with torque converter operation. Fluid and filter have definitely, absolutely been changed with OE parts, right?

I have squirreled away somewhere some documentation on how NIC works on F10s with 8HP transmissions. I also have instructions on how to code it out with ISTA+ - there's a SIB somewhere to cover where a "highly discerning driver" (or something like that) might complain about lurching and delays and the fix is to use ISTA+ to disable NIC at the expense of fuel economy and much higher driveline loading when stopped.

If I can find those articles or links I'll post them here for educational purposes.
