Who has a QuickJack? EXT or SLX?

Just wondering who has a QuickJack and which one you're using.

My measurements of the F10 show the lifting spread at min 58" max 65"

QuickJack specs say that SLX does 29.5"-60" and EXT 35.5"-66"

With 58" lying under 60" I'm not sure how the jack is constructed, and if this would leave only half the jackpad covered and in a dangerous lift position, or if lift pads are involved and it will lift OK.

I've got a question in queue to QuickJack support but they may not answer during the time window of a local sale on SLX.

I thought I'd ask here.... If anyone has been through the same decision process or is successfully using an SLX it could have quite an impact on my decision and outcome.

Thanks

I have the slx. It does not reach the jack points on the f10. Its about 8 inches too short. I shouldve went with the ext. I had called quick jack and explained that i have numerous vehicles and would need something that can handle all of them. They suggested the slx.

Thank you for directly confirming what I thought to be true.

I was recently made aware of the "SLX frame extensions" accessory, which I suspect you may also be interested in. The only downside is the vertical space it occupies, making ride height a potential concern.

Yes I am aware and was interested. But for the cost why not just get the ext. you know I never really considered returning my Slx for the ext. I should’ve called to find out. Had mine about 6-8 weeks now. And not even really sure the extra 6 inches is enough. Should’ve take measurements when I had it out.

The catch comes when you want to lift multiple cars -the EXT could be too long if I want to lift, say, a Rabbit/Golf/GTI, Mini, older 911. Also, Costco sells the SLX versions up here in Canada for half the price of anywhere else so getting an EXT is way out of budget compared to SLX plus extender.

The downside of the frame extender is the 1.4" of vertical height added to the lift. If I lower my F10 20mm-25mm (that was my plan) getting a 3000 or 5000SLX + extender under the lift points is dicey, and a 7000SLX wouldn't work at all.

Gotcha. But I’m still not sure if the extenders are long enough. I took measurements before I purchased mine. And as the website stated the lift points should’ve lined up. But they didn’t. I still managed to lift the 535 without going crazy. I also read another member on the west coast was using 2x10 as extenders. Not sure if I’d feel comfortable with that. As I’m not 100% comfortable with just the quick jack. And I use jack stands along with it

I have the SLX 5000? Been using it for years. The bonus is that the jack itself has a huge shelf, so as long as the pads hit some part of the rail you're totally fine. Our minivan is the longest, and again it sits enough on the frame rails but I need to remember it's front engine so I need to bias the jacks more towards the front or it can tip/rock. I just put it up on the air and lean on the front to make sure there is zero movement. Our X1 and X2 are the smallest of cars and it still fits in between the wheels and the pads can be moved to touch the jack points. Unless you have something super tiny like a miata.. I'm sure it'll all fit and make it work.

Smile BL-5000EXT works for F10 and F20

I bought the 5000 EXT a year ago and they work great for both of my F-series BMWs: 535i M-Sport and X3 28i X.

They're a game-changer for the BMW enthusiast! I kept my RaceRamps for the rare occasion where I need to get 1 end off the ground but still need weight on the suspension i.e. sway bar install but other than that, it's QuickJack all day long!

Cheers
