Think of buying a 2011 535xi
Thinking of picking up a 2011 535xi.
Car is in immaculate condition has under 40k. I know that the car is a few years out of warranty the owner tells me that the car is up to date on maintenance and on recalls. Car comes with comfort access, premium package , cold weather package. The owner did convert the car to msport look. If I buy the car I was thinking of buying an extended warranty and reputable warranty company's I should look into? Asking price is 17k. Is this a fair price? What kind of mileage does the 535xi get? Anything reason why I should stay away from this model? Thank you all |

You might consider pulling the service records on it, and reviewing what’s been done vs. what will need to be done. The water pump, valve cover gasket, cv joint boots, oil pan gasket. These all often need attention once up past 65k.
I use mycarfax.com and add the cars I’m looking at into my garage with the vin#. I have a 2011 535xi w/ DINAN stage 1. I’d say I get 25sh all around... and I’m quite heavy footed at times. |

TRG makes good points, they are reliable cars, just need some maintenance after a certain mileage. I'm at 83K on my 2011 535xi and it's been running solid.

I have a 2011 535xi with ~130,000 miles and no issues at all. It has only 1 owner which is me. The price I am selling for is $6,000. If you have any questions about the car, feel free to pm me or quote me here.

Make sure Vanos bolt recall has been done, other then that its a solid car. I have 108k on mine and just general maintenance has been done.
Just realized this thread is from 2018.

You guys are in the minority. The n55 from 2011 it's a pita when it comes to maintenance. Expect to spend at least 8k in the next 3 years to keep it on tip top shape. Hpfp, lpfp, coils, axles, spark plugs, injectors... to name a few are always in need of attention
