Greetings.

I wanted to formally introduce myself to F10 community as I recently ended up with a new 535i X-Drive while picking up below pictured F31 for a friend of mine. The purchase of this car was not planned at all.

I have owned many BMW in the past but non of them were my daily drivers. There were more of the weekend "fun" cars. Last one being a ZCP E92 M3. 5er is also my 1st non ED BMW.

I have always loved the F10 styling but could not / did not want to justify cost of buying one for my pretty harsh daily commute. That has always been the job of the Subaru Legacies that I have leased over the years. Subs have been super dependable, somewhat fun to drive (with 3.6R engine) and super easy to lease. The 6th Gen Legacy offers pretty much many things that 5er offers and some of them it does it in better ways (rear back seat room, much more advanced nav and etc.) However, there is clearly no comparison to the way 5er drives.

As this is an out going model, Adam at BMW Seattle offered me an amazing lease deal which made the payments on the BMW pretty close to what they were on the Legacy, plus the 67% residual BMW offered for July sealed the deal. I had to take a car from inventory and this car had all of the options I would of added with an exception of shades and soft-close doors which I can live without.

The plan is to keep this car for the term of the lease and I will most likely go back to Legacy after but who knows!

Without further due, here are some of the pictures and things that I have done so far. As usual, many of my mods will be mostly cosmetic as it is a leased car and I like to keep my cars as OEM as possible.

Here is the F31 w/ track and handling pack that started it all. (At delivery)



This is the 1st time I have seen my car and we would be untied 45 days later. This is the pic that I took to send home for approval from da boss!



45 days later, deal is sealed and she is home. After full TTG detail (more to come on that)

Mods Completed:

Full Xpel (Full Hood, Full Fenders & etc) I removed all necessary trim pieces before so you can not tell car has clear bra installed
20% Tint
Another Coat of Zaino (Yes, call me old school)
Clear Front Reflectors
Blackvue 650 and Escort 9500 hardwired
LED flood lights & trunk lights (not going to do full interior)
OEM Style 236 wheels for winter driving. Take offs from another 2016 5er. I got these after hearing all the wheel cracking, tire blowing stories
De-badged X-Drive logo (like 5 mins after delivery) and most likely will get rid of the rest later.
Blacked out all chrome
OEM M5 Spoiler
OEM European Tail Lights (Amber turn signals)
OEM European Head Light Switch (for rear fogs)
OEM European Safety Triangle & 1st Aid Kit
OEM European Driver's Side Mirror
BMW Performance Style Front Lip

Mods to Come:
-OEM BMW Performance Exhaust
-Coding, coding, coding
-OEM Led Interior Lights







Sad Day for Legacy! Going back to the dealer as there was a pretty good equity in my lease (that is never going to happen with this car) and the dealer I bought it from were happy to have her back. Clearly Legacy is all back to stock.



Road Trip!!!

Took her over to Eastern Washington for break-in which is something I do with all of my new cars. Went over 3 mountain passes, varied speed and got to play around a bit as well...... As much as you can play around with a 535.

Welcome aboard to the F10 train. I love how the F10 looks in white. My previous car was white and I love it but for my bmw I decided to go all the way black. Nice list of upcomming mods. Keep us posted .

CONGRATS! as far as the chrome on the door handle you can just use vinyl like what most of us have done...i did mine with the leftover trim when i did my window trim

Thank you. I really wanted a Space Gray but I pretty much had to take this one.

But there is no way I can cut that vinyl the rightway and imperfections would bug me. I wish we can just buy black replacement pieces for the trim.

welcome to the forums, if you find a replacement for the chrome door handles post it, let us know. so far the only solutions have been either paint, plastidip, or vinyl.

using vinyl on the door trim is the easist mod you can do...any imperfections would be on the installer not doing it correctly or rushing it.

E-Codes Check! FINALLY!!!!

I was in Europe and picked up a pair for the fraction of the cost some of the vendors are asking for.

What is the difference? Visually, None! But they blink Amber unlike the idiotic N. American spec that we have here which according to the rest of the world is apparently unsafe. (US will finally require them starting 2018)

I will install them while I am doing my spring detail.







And here she is on her winter wheels (Style 236) on a misty Christmas morning. These wheels apparently are the standard rims for all the 5 series in Europe. Most 5 series were rolling on these. I am yet to see these wheels in US. They just work in the winter with all the pot holes and crap we have on Seattle roads while 351's are safe and sound in storage.

Been married for 11 years I don't consider my wife to be my Boss even tho she makes more money then me. Don't get me wrong I love my wife and respect her but she knows she aint my Boss
