N63 Oil Consumption Repair Journey

Ive been having issues with my 2011 550i and oil consumption. I've spoken to my SA and finally decided to pull the trigger and get everything fixed which most likely means new engine. The N63 Engine is on back order but I will keep this thread updated on my journey and this repair including pricing. Stay Tuned.

Are you going through the Class-action recall?

You may not get a new engine if they diagnose it needed just valve guides repaired or turbos replaced or oil return cover gasket replaced.

Good luck. My experience was terrible with BMW and my replacement engine. Despite my 3rd party warranty dishing out 11k plus an additional 1k from my end it still took almost 8 months to get. To add on to this there was never any actual updates on when I could expect my engine. BMW corporate constantly lied to me by giving me false information on when I could expect a replacement engine. It wasn't until about 7 months in where corporate finally put me on a priority list for the replacement engine. It seems from what my BMW service advisor told me is that only about 2 replacement engines are being sent to each region a month (which is ridiculous). Hopefully you get yours sooner but only time will tell.
