No Warning Tones - flashing red light?
2012 535i Msport
So a few weeks ago I had the low battery warning. The CA door handles were acting up. But one day I got the No a Warning Tones alert. Won’t go away. I disconnected the CA individually on the bad doors. I would walk up the the car and door would unlock. And a constant clicking. Disconnecting them made that issue go away. Charged battery and still the “no warning tones alert”. I had the battery checked and the alternator. Both good. There’s also no entertainment details. The navigation works. But the right screen doesn’t have any details. Bluetooth works, but of course no audio. I pulled the amp. The power lights on the amp are on. The fiber connector has a flashing red light. Not solid. Should it be solid? Last edited by BMelchner; 12-09-2018 at 11:50 AM.. Reason: More details |

I believe the fiber optic cable should be showing a steady red light. Shouldn’t be blinking. The blinking makes me think the head unit has an issue. Not sure about the door lock issues or battery warnings.
Maybe start checking fuses? Because of so many issues, I wonder if maybe the battery is on its way out. Battery testing doesn’t always seem to always be 100% accurate in my experience. |

I’m trying to find someone that can reset my battery. I don’t think it’s the headunit because I can select different stations. The details show up across the top of the screen but not on the right.

I recently bought the Schwaben Foxwell OBD2 scan tool to be able to reset the battery and read codes, etc. It came in handy retracting the rear electronic parking brake when I changed the rear pads. Might want to see if anyone near you has one you can borrow, or invest in one for yourself to reset the battery now and to have for future use. There also may be some shops nearby like autozone or advance that may have one you can borrow.

Went to a local indi shop and had them do a battery reset. No change. Light is still flashing red. Is there a common bus that can trip? Any other thoughts?

Same Issue
I've got the same issue. Everything works fine when I first start the car and then all sounds disappear and iDrive displays "No Warning Tones".
Have you found the solution to this problem? |
