Wife-friendly catted hf dp?

Is this even possible for my 535 xdrive?

A DP will be the only thing holding me back from stage 2, otherwise I wouldn't get one. Is there anything that's high-flow enough to allow stage 2 but isn't too loud? I'm ok with something that would give a nice subtle exhaust note but that's all I'd want.

Def possible. I went with catted AR Design DP's about two years ago. Provides a nice sound, helps me pass inspection and wifey has never complained about it. A little pricey but worth it for what it alleviates.

Thanks...how about you driving with it day to day, did you always notice the difference at first or was it so slight you wouldn't even notice some times?

Thanks Mike...do you think I'd be happier with one vs the other?

The sound is significantly different from obviously stock is/was, but it doesn't bother me too much. Honestly, it all sounds the same now.. no complaints.

I've often wondered if the performance gain is worth the price (vs. the gain of a non-kitty one). We're talking about a $500-ish difference in price.

Has anyone seen any dynos of a kitty one vs. non-kitty (stock or same mods/engine), or have any experience with sound of both?

The performance is def not the same. I went with the catted DP mostly because I wanted to pass yearly inspections. I got tired of pulling the DP out to pass and having to reinstall. As you might know.. its such a major pain to install. There are some mild performance gains & it does provide a nice sound enhancement. I would say the catted versions are more family friendly than non-cat.

In hindsight, would you honestly say it's still worth the purchase?

Its a tough question. I would still lean to "yes" because it def provided some enhancements. I do agree.. its a pretty steep price for acoustics and medium-range performance gains; but it helps me pass my inspections and removes the cost of having to take off my DP per year.

For me, I'm only looking for it as the least invasive way to enable Stage 2...so I'm thinking about the potential cost being to enable to the tune benefits, not for the acoustics or performance gains of the DP alone
