Yet Another 20" Wheel Fitment Thread

I've already gone through all of the previous threads and made some sense out of the at times contradictory info, but I'm still not sure what the best tire option is for a 550i xDrive.

Current 19 Setup:
  • Front: 8.5x19 et33
  • Rear: 8.5x19 et33

New 20" Wheel Setup:
  • Front: 9x20 ET35
  • Rear: 10x20 ET35

550i xDrive 20" Recommended Setup:

While this is recommended size by BMW and lots of members here (or 285 for rear), are the tires wide enough for new setup?
  • Front: 8.5x20 et33 / 245/35
  • Rear: 9x20 et44 / 275/30

M5 20" Recommended Setup:

While tire width same as new setup, I’ve read these tire sizes will rub.
  • Front: 9x20 ET34 / 265/35
  • Rear: 10x20 ET34 / 295/30

Here is what I'm looking for in order of importance:
  1. Tires not to rub or touch the fender walls especially since car will be slightly lowered on KWs (at the higher end of KWs recommended height setting since this is a daily driver)
  2. Tires to be flushed with wheel sides (not a fan of stretched tire look)
  3. Wheel as flush as possible with fenders without compromising the 2 bullets above

Really appreciate the input. Have been reading and researching all weekend.

If you're lowering, your best bet is 245/35/20 and 285/30/20. I have rear 295/30/20 on the M5 343M wheels and it's already pretty tight on stock suspension, will probably rub if you lower.

Since you're xDrive, you can't have the total diameter of the two wheels differ by more than 1%

Thanks for the info. Pulled the trigger and went with the 245/285 setup. Can't wait for the wheels and tires to come in.

Will a 20x9 ET: 30 work on a 245/35/20 squared setup work on a 2016 F10?
