Today, my 535i reached 300K miles. I am pretty proud of this car. It have never let me down. It have been a great car for my long distance commute for the past 7.5 years. No major repairs. Still have original engine and transmission.

Here are things I had to replace. I will not list common things like oil changes, filters or wipers as they are normal wear and tear items and will make the list very long.

56K 4 tires
78K windshield (road hazard)
110K valve cover gasket, 4 tires, spark plugs, OFHG (did not leak)
153K. 4 tires, alignment, front brake, thrust arm bushing, fender liner (road hazard)
200K water pump & thermostat (still works, just wanted to change)
216K rear brake pads, valve cover, spark plugs, OFHG, oil pan gasket
225K 2 tires, alignment
239K transfer case fluid
240K valve cover, battery
257K thrust arms
264K belt tensioner & idler pulleys
269K vent hose (broke it during vc replacement), FL CV axle (boot damaged)
271K 4 tires
279K 4 tires (hit pothole on hwy, damaged 1 front 1 rear)
281K transmission pan (original pan never leaked. damaged drain bolt), spark plugs
288K windshield (road hazard)
299K evac and refill refrigerant

Congrats. The N55 can go far with proper maintenance. I see others pop up sometimes with over 200k…not something you see with the N63s.

Speaks volumes for the maintenance you gave the N55, especially preventive and driving behavior. Thank you for your inputs

You show current speed limit of 70 mph but you are only doing 55?

You are taking a picture so I guess that explains why you are driving like my Mom.

M-B & Volvo used to provide high mileage grill badges a loonnngg time ago.....you deserve one from BMW for 300K.

I think you should try for 400K, then go for the 1/2 Million Mile club!!!! Not very many members, either.

gotta ask you say original engine and transmission, but I assume the cooling system has been changed out? Turbo as well?, Intercoolers? radiator? give us more deets.

I have a 2012 535i with 117K and plan to keep it at least until 200K.

also, big question, original transmission, but I assume fluids changed? no way that's original transmission on orig fluid right?

Water pump and thermostat was replaced but only because it is high millage. I didn't want it to fail on me. Original intercooler, radiator and turbo. I updated first post with a list.

Original fluid and pan on trans, wow! I am debating on getting my other ZF8 equipped car, fluid changed or not as it is higher mileage.

I drain and fill transmission fluid every 50K. The drain bolt cracked because it's made of plastic so I was forced to replace the pan. There weren't much debris inside the filter. It never leaked either. If the drain bolt didn't crack, I would say it's safe to use the pan for the life of the transmission.

What year F10? I guess my wife's 2012 535 with 90,000 miles still has long life ahead of it.

300k is reassuring! Couple questions… how’s the ride compared new? I’m almost at 100k and the ride and handling is still superb… just curious what to expect 200k from now. Are you still on OE struts? Has your car required walnut blasting?

Thanks!

I drive mainly on the interstate so my wear and tear is provably a lot less than others. I am still on original strut. It ride similar to new until recently. I ran over something really hard on the highway. It may have damaged the top hat or strut because I hear a little creaking noise going up and down my driveway. There is an audible clunking noise going over bumps as a result.
