Hey everyone,

So I installed an ebay carplay in my 2011 cic 535i this weekend and it worked perfectly, however I noticed that after installation when I tried to shift gears, it wouldn’t and it would just keep saying to press the unlock button first which I was pressing. Disconnected the battery and connected it after 20 mins and now I can shift, however most of the times when I try to go into Park, the light on the shifter blinks one time and it doesn’t go into Park. Sometimes it goes, it’s random I feel. Was thinking it’s because of the carplay so I removed it completely and double checked all connections including the ones to the shifter, which I had not removed, and everything was connected properly. The problem is still there, however. I try to put it into Park and the light on the shifter and the little box outline for the gear in the dash just blink 1-2 times and it doesn’t go into park.

Pulled some codes and 2 of them are CD040B and 80268E.

Try this website to search for fault code explanation. The first one something to do with CAN connection fault and the second is more specific and point to your park button sticking or jammed.


Try this and see if it helps.
