anyone totally dissatisfied
After 4 mths I am a week away from taking delivery of my new 520D in TS with a few toys.
Anyway, after those months of anticipation I'm sure I will have no regrets, but wondered has anyone on the forum been genuinely dissapotined by their F10 ownership experience. I know there have been some areas where owners have been underwhelmed and maybe angered but I mean overall, in general, does anyone regret shelling out for their new F10- Last edited by finbrad; 12-29-2010 at 09:58 AM.. |

Very pleased indeed. I have no issues with any of the reported problems. Everything works as it should and coming from the Audi camp, I'm very impressed.

I am not a happy bunny with my F10 520d
Mine has been back to the dealer seven times in for months had multiple parts swapped including a new ecu and I am now looking to sell. I am considering a Jaguar XF.
The quality of my car doesnt seem to be great. Dealer was good, but I am disappointed after having several bullet proof 3 series. I'm sure they worked out all the kinks by now. Last edited by chongyblue; 12-30-2010 at 09:04 AM.. |

I've been thinking of picking up an F10 also, so this thread is of interest. But the only problem is finding a buyer who might admit to total dissatisfaction. It's kind of hard to do once you've bought a new car. Nobody wants to say it or think about it.
My only fear at the moment is buying a new release this early in the game. But that's a fear I have with any new model of any sort of product. edit: I do see that there's one person here who's not happy........ |

Its basicly the same car as the 7, which has been out for some years no. If you wait for the after-the-summervacation-2011-production you will be pretty safe.

Remember, this car came out last year, and although it started as a 2011 model, it was really a late 2010 so we are technically, sort of, in the second year of production. I think the problems are getting sorted out. That said, these cars ain't Toyotas, and there will often be issues. BMW is generally pretty good about fixing things though, so I wouldn't be too concerned at this point.

BMW has had many models in the past developing well-known issues (to the degree of class action suits, etc..) And no brand is immune, whether it's Honda or Ferrari. The point is we won't know how the F10 will fare in the real world until a few years. IMS and RMS issues on the 996 and early 997 didn't appear until later. Examples of this sort of thing are across all brands......btw, can you say "HPFP?" http://www.bmwtwinturboengineproblems.com/ I'm not a fanboy of any specific brand and therefore I'm simply cautious. |

F11 17´auto sport transmisson
Its very difficult to drive this car above 170 Km/h the feeling of the steering is horrible and it doesn´t transmite conffidence. It´s a battle... you need to make adjustamnet on the wheel all the time. Also pulling to the right and the auto lights always on. In city is wonderfull. Milleage 7.6 l/100 Km. the rst is superb. |

As cars have become more and more complex they *all* have issues; some minor niggles, others occasionally major. I imagine for every person who's had unfortunate luck with an F10 there are hundreds more with no issues at all. Remember that BMW owners who post on forums are a relatively small percentage of those who own them and, as is human nature and understandable, those with problem cars scream the loudest out of frustration. I'm one with zero issues thus far.......my 550i is fantastic. BTW, since the 5 Touring is no longer available in the US I have a Mercedes E350 Wagon on overnight loan to show my wife. After driving it nearly 100 miles today I can't believe they price that car so closely to the 550i which is, IMO, a heck of a lot more car for the money. I guess we check out an A6 Avant tomorrow........

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/...n6282738.shtml of course Toyota claims it was simply due to floor mats being located too far forward. And a video: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?...ted;photovideo This big Prius news story came several years after I owned a Tundra and a Sequoia both of which were riddled with problems.

Not sure how someone can be totally dissatisfied in the F10. Unless of course they had a specific problem that got in the way of their satisfaction but that would be specific to their car and although unfortunate not representative of the F10 itself.
