BMW_Alpina is the owner, it will be his decision. We’ve basically exchanged our trims as he’s been looking for the Alpina trim for years and I wanted to see how closely the honey walnut + Platinum matched to the bmw individual press F10 car back in the day.. ☺️

Got my valved mufflers and dual tips installed! The tips do poke out a tad bit more than I’d like but it required a lot of custom fabrication so I can’t complain too much.

Well.... i got stage 1 on my 520d, and it was not good so i reverted to stock....car got 237hp and 470 Nm torque. But, lost 8th gear, car got to 215 kmh and stopped, as there is no one more gear, even with manual shift, it would just go back to 7th. So i reverted to stock. Wanted to go find another tuner, but instead got new rims from a friend, style 94 from 7 series for summer set. I have new summer tires, and tpms sensors allready waiting for installation. They need a bit of love, so i have few months to fix them. Few small dents from road, but inside is terrible. Looks goooood on a car.....

I’ve had OEM M5 mufflers on my 550i for a while now, but always wanted a bit more tone — especially on cold start. This week I finally went for it and deleted the silencers + big center resonator, replacing them with a Borla X-pipe (PN 621105).

The sound is exactly what I was after — not screaming loud or raspy, just deep, clean, and refined. Valves closed it’s totally calm, but when I open them it comes alive with that deep V8 growl and turbo whoosh. In Sport mode around 2.5–5k rpm it absolutely sings, and with my Mission Performance Stage 1 and XHP Stage 2 trans tune, it gives those obnoxious pops and bangs in Sport that are almost too embarrassing ��

Current exhaust setup:
• OEM F10 M5 mufflers w/ valves + Valvetronic controller
• Borla X-pipe (PN 621105) replacing resonator + silencers

Perfect balance of tone and refinement — zero drone, tons of character. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out ��

Had an interesting experience last weekend. Weather has been getting cold enough that I decided to swap back to stock wheels with winter tires. That was easy.

Needed to change my oil, which is also easy. I planned on giving my car a good cleanup afterwards, and went to reposition my car. After the cold start sequence ended it started running horribly and a drivetrain malfunction popped up on the screen. Of course this happened at 3pm on a Saturday and I needed to drive to the airport an hour away for a work trip the next morning.

I had two codes:
131401 - VANOS, exhaust, cold start: not adjustable
120408 - Boost pressure control: shutdown as a follow-up reaction

ChatGPT gave me the exact sequence of items to check.

1. Make sure the oil filter cage wasn't missing. I knew it wasn't but I checked, and even replaced the filter just to be safe.
2. Remove and clean the exhaust VANOS solenoid. (I opted to skip this as I would need to buy new seals and the cost wasn't much more for new solenoids)
3. If cleaning didn't resolve the issue the replace the solenoid.

I ordered a new solenoid from RockAuto ($25 each) while at my hotel room on Sunday night so they would be delivered while I was gone. Came back Wednesday afternoon and swapped out the solenoid for the new one. Problem solved! Guessing it was on it's way out and this was a random coincidence that it died after changing the oil. Either way it was a cheap and easy fix so all good. May replace the intake solenoid as preventive maintenance as I ordered 2.

For my birthday this last weekend, I bought DUDMD's Stage 1 tune and flashed my 535d. Quoted roughly +80hp and +100tq. Have only stomped on it a little this morning but so far so good!

In the next week or two I hope to tackle finishing my BBK upgrade too!

Delete would be a Stage 2 tune, from either DUDMD or Malone/Tunezilla. After researching, I went with DUDMD. I haven't deleted yet so I'm using his Stage 1.

Spent Thanksgiving break tackling a few items on the D. Completed the following:

• Air filter
• Cabin air filters
• OEM mud guards
• G11 front caliper & rotor swap
• M5 rear caliper & rotor swap
• Winter wheels & tires swap

Felt good too get so many things done. Next up will be fuel filter replacement.
