Be Careful when Opening the Trunk
Not sure if you have encountered this, just want to warn you guys.
Went to this parking lot and back up parked my car real close to the wall, didn't want anyone to nick my front. Opened my trunk using the button inside. Stepped out and went back to the trunk and found out the trunk stuck on the wall, can't really close the trunk so drove forward a little bit. Trunk edge scratched of course, not very visible but paint peeled off a bit. Not a happy camper! Not sure if this is a design fault. When the trunk opens it projects more than the bumper. Ok, I will never park close to the back wall using the sensor from now on.

Not too bad, but look closely I can see a fine line scratch on the edge. Debating if I should get a touch up pen from BMW to fix it a bit, or just leave it. Not really can see if with the trunk closed.

haha, I hope you don't mean the whole car.
I have touched up door edges before, real easy and no big deal. Can't really notice after. Let me see if I have time to visit the parts dept. Just keep a touch up paint handy would be nice.

My bro did that on his car, quite deep the paint all off and the metal indented in a 2inch scar - I just filled in the bare part with black paint Yours sounds a lot less serious..
How did you do this man, I parked really close and could still open it. Speaking of trunk, the parts for auto-tailgate are 5k+ for the two motors and the control unit, not counting the reprogramming needed to work with remote prob same price as bmwhk without the tax (9k) if they offered it |

Luckily my scratch isn't that deep, just leave it. Won't rust as it is only surface damage, not even seen the primer.
If you try open your trunk and note closely, you will find the trunk open further than the bumper. I did not park extremely close, still a few inches from the wall. so be careful, bro. Forget about the auto-tailagte retrofit, bro. Save your $ for other mods. M aero kit?

RC, if no body did M, I might do it, but seems like a lot of takers .. I won't join the crowd and further diminish the rarity value.
I dunno why, i keep seeing e90 and e46 with M rear bumper .. what is up with that.. perhaps it was always like that, just i didnt pay attention b4 I want to order my tint and put it on the rear bumper and either be shocked pleasantly or unpleasantly.. but i still havent put on any of the other stuff i bought.. it will always be a "work in progress" |

Never seen any F10 M sport yet. I asked one shop they quoted me about the same price as BMW, crazy. Have not asked the shop that mlai refers yet. I really like to swap but may be later, bumpers too new. Just let them trash a little may be. Unless there is an irresistible deal. I kind of like the Arkym lip and diffuser add on to M sport that just released. Not sure if the front lip will scratch on ramps just like the 3D Design lip that mlai had. Mlai bro, you think the Arkym too MK look?

I think the M sport front bumper is about the same clearance from ground as the SE. The problem with front lips are they stick out hence scratched going up or down ramps.

That's correct but I have DHP so car sits a tad lower than non-DHP cars.....

OK, wait for your update.
My car should be lower than yours, remember I got the H&R?

Looking at Arkym lip. Yes, just a bit too MK for my taste. But the absolute deal breaker is how much it protrudes out in front. That will be practically suicide for me, going up and down ramps!
