2011 520d headlight issue!
Hey BMW enthusiasts!
Hope to have an easy one for you here. After purchasing a 2011 520d that been amazing so far, the issue with the passenger headlight is becoming an itch I want to scratch. It throws up problems with the indicator and side lights. I have attached photos and hopefully someone can offer some experience. I’m a sparky by trade so a bit of problem solving I’m not afraid of. I have checked all fuses. Thanks in advance! |

Hey,
FYI - These are some aftermarket headlights, probably from AliExpress. I have a similar issue on my headlights, I am in the upcoming days planning to switch out the TMS module in the headlights to see if that does the trick. If it doesn't, there's probably some expert coding needed to get the car working and properly communicating with the provided TMS modules. Will keep you posted. |

Hey,
I have now investigated my TMS modules and they're not the same as in the original headlights, however, what I found is that the new modules have a switch which determines whether it's the left or right headlight. On my RIGHT headlight it was switched on "L" which means it was thinking it was the LEFT headlight. I flipped the switch to "R" and everything seems to be working as meant. I recommend you remove the TMS module and check, you may have the same issue. |
