N63tu Production dates

I was wondering if anyone could give me the first production dates on F10 550i with the new N63 tu motor. I assume it was late 12' early 13' but i would like to know for sure. Thanks!

According to RealOEM, you could get an LCI F10 with the N63TU produced in 08/2012.

There is obviously some overlap with the non-LCI, so I'm not sure when BMW actually started selling the LCI 550 in all countries. But according to the database that is the earliest produced LCI 550 F10.

Is there anyway by looking at VIN or ECU housing, anything really, that would tell you if its a TU for sure? Thanks

Yes, you could definitely tell with the VIN.

You can use RealOEM or a BMW VIN decoder.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
(put it in the "Serial Number" box)

or
http://bimmer.work/

for example.

If you see N63Tu OR N63O1 on those sites you'll know you have the TU.
