CP...do i need it before i put my JB4 in?

I know it needs to be upgraded but because I have other things that need to come first like bills...will I be fine running a stock CP for the time being?

No real point in even changing the CP until it breaks... no real performance gains. I've got about 20k miles on my car with stock CP and JB4 map 5

I wonder about the need on n55s...seems like it's infamous for breaking bc of n54s, wonder if I should've just waited till the stock one broke before replacing it

Yeah it'll run rich bc no boost, not a hard job to swap it if you need to

There shouldnt be any damage that occurs. Charge pipe is vacuum and you'll likely notice boost issues immediately.

It'll be fine for a while. Obviously you want to change it as soon as you can for peace of mind, but it's not like it'll blow up as soon as you plug the JB4 in and do your first pull.

Out of curiosity, did you already own the JB4 before BM3/MHD figured out how to tune the car via OBDII port with DME removal? Curious as to why people would buy a JB4 when a proper ECU tune is available these days.

If you plan on upgrading and pushing more PSI, change it! this is the one I got

https://www.ebay.com/itm/FTP-Black-A...oAAOSw5WVbhRmC

he had a buy it now or best offer a while back with free shipping, so I got it for cheaper, but I can't find that listing on ebay anymore, but this ended up being the best price for CP and BP that I could find. Great quality and looks stock when installed since it's black. Easy to install, only took about 15-20 minutes

Thanks! I saved it for the to-do list

I'd say just get it. I had a JB4, bms filter, and vrsf downpipe for about a month running fine. When I changed my boost converter the car felt sluggish. I decided to change the chargepipe and glad I did. I discovered the sensor holder was melted. Car runs better now.

Ive been on the stock chargepipe for a while now running Map 2 with 14PSI..

The F10 N55 chargepipes dont actually crack on our cars, the sensor mount undoes itself from the chargepipe which is the issue we seem to have.
