Connecting amplifier to battery

Hello, I am about to install a Mosconi-amplifier in my F11. I am wondering if this is the right way to connect the V+. Not sure if I am about to disturb the battery-monitoring or something...

This post got me wondering which one to use. Anyone with experience on the F10/F11 battery?

Personally, I would stick with the under-hood connection. Though I don't know for sure, I imagine you would be able to access the cable after the battery. Maybe intercept the cable between the battery and under-hood connection. If you go straight to the positive side of the battery the IBS won't be able to detect current draw and could leave you with a dead battery.

Sorry I am a non-native English speaker. Allthough I understand most concepts I do not understand all terminology. What do you mean with "under-hood connection"? A distribution block other than the one directly on the battery? Do you literally mean under the hood, because the battery&amp are in the trunk.

Yes... There is a remote positive and negative terminal under hood or bonnet if you prefer.

Don't go under the hood to make it complicated. Use the positive distribution block to connect amp cable. In pic, you can see many empty slots, next to blue ring connector with red wire. The method you are suggesting in pic is fine too.

Agreed. I just wasn't sure there was a place after the IBS to tap into the positive.

Be sure to put a fuse on the power cable.

Actually in the pic you can see the inline fuse holder to the left of his hand.

D'oh!!

Interrogative... How does one plug into the IBS? Are those blue connectors available?

I chose to install it this way, with the ring connector. The battery was not dead this morning and the car was not on fire, so everything seems to be working fine

Yes, you can get them only or propably at the dealer. These are the product-codes for E90. Not sure of they fit on F10/F11. From photo they seem the same but I didn't try.
