“Driver restraint malfunction” after changing steering
I changed the steering wheel on my 2016 528i from a Sport steering to the M-Sport. Both are dual stage airbags. However I started the car and everything works fine and I get a driver restraint system malfunction. Is it just an error or is the airbag actually not working? Airbag was brand new and I plugged it in easy. Do I have to code the error out
CORRECTION: Looks like I had a three stage airbag so I have to code it to be dual stage now |

I have the same issue. Anyone found a solution?
I upgraded the steering of my F10 and I got an arrow drivers restraints malfunction”
Does anybody know how I can fix this error? I tried to clear it but it’s a permanent error. I am considering changing steering sensor angle, do you think it’s necessary? With this error do I need to change my airbag? |
