So are we saying Ross Brawn and Pat Symons both of which are two of the most gifted engineers are changing the rules due to influence from Merc. I think your all on crack, as they both aren’t fans of Merc at all.

I do however think it’s fairly late for a change to 23, but if they think that downforce levels would have jumped even more and the push to drop the levels would have accelerated things the I can see the merit in changing the 23 regs.

Ross Brawn sold his GP team to Mercedes (the start of Mercedes GP) and he was Mercedes GP's first team boss. Back then he still had a 25% stake in mercedes GP/Brawn gp together with his business partner Nick Fry.
So I'm sure there are still some connections from a previous era....

I wonder how much his current stake in Mercedes AMG petronas is today. Is that still that 25% he had with Nick Fry?

Mercedes' influence runs deep in the FIA. Very deep....

Read in Express that wolfy is now complaining to Fia that they are too slow with bringing in this plank moving measuring thing, what a hypocrite of first order.

Why doesn't wolfy simply make a protest on RB and Ferrari floors if he feels hard done by making his own mistake by building a porpoising car instead of going behind the scenes with his shadowy connections and the funny thing is that the Merc doesn't porpoise any more, the tethers ordered by Fia on cars that jumped rectified this. So why has ben ordered this TD, is he going to deny that it's a plot to prepare Merc to have huge downforce for next years car b/c that's the only reason that springs to a layman's mind.

You are showing that you know nothing about his involvement in Mercedes, how he left and why he would never be biased towards them.

In effect he built the team and it’s structure for Toto and Lauda to come him and push him out and force him to leave. For then the car and team he had put together became a winner the following season.

So yeah if you know about what went on or his views in his books then he is no fan of the team or Toto today. Some here have very short memories or weren’t watching much over the past few decades.

Oh well, back to FP3.
Checo's problem was a bad anti-roll bar yesterday which partly explained his spin but I'm still expecting Ferrari to be quick over a short period as RB are still a little overweight and is that all from Merc or are they sandbagging a bit until quali.

Big big spin for Chas on hards and it's no secret now that Sainz will start P20 after all with new PU and ancillaries also why not the gearbox too while he's at it.

Max nabs it by actually quite a margin from Lec, as it gets hotter he goes quicker while Chas can't match..keeping in mind what Russell was saying yesterday Lec was wearing the rubber quick and Carlito doesn't have to bother too much about times.

I hope they have the tyrewear under control at RB tomorrow. That was imho the major issue on the RBR in Austria and what Ferrari had sorted in that race.

But I heard LEC say that in FP3 his softs were already done after 1 fast lap.

I just saw that spin from Lec on hards and it was sudden and vicious with him not particularly quick through the corner.

At Austria RB struggled with set-up mistakes that's why MAX got extreme tyre wear .

Currently the RB's look faster and the long-runs are looking better ..

As for Mercedes : "Power is nothing without control" !
