Any reason you're not using ISTA? There's a specific ISTA service function that cycles the ABS unit.

We were doing it in his driveway, and didn't think we needed to do anything besides the normal bleeding routine.
My buddy's the service manager for a Miami dealer, so not hands on anymore. I think I may have to talk him into bringing home a computer with ISTA on it

ISTA is widely available for download by non-BMW tech folks as well, just gotta know where to look

Well update for me: My buddy took it down to the Miami dealer he works for, and they hooked it up to do a normal bleed (3rd time), and it still didn't hold pressure in the system. My car was being a total BUTTHOLE.

They then pulled the Brake Master Cylinder, cleaned it, and ran it again, this time using the ABS refresh during the bleeding, and it works. So like guessed above, air had gotten into the ABS unit too.
