Really dislike the new kidney grill design and carbon fiber bits. Don't think I'll be purchasing any new BMW's in the future.

Nice design...
Yeah.... It's not be "another one of the nay-sayers" but damn that kidney ruins the overall look of the thing. I've had the E87 1-Series - two in fact - and loved the thing.

Small, good power and perfect weight balance and rear wheel drive

This one isn't just ONE of the three above. Might have a fancy iDrive but damn

So BMW finally figured out how to make the MINI brand profitable - take the MINI logo off, add a parts bin BMW / generic body, then (most importantly) add a BMW logo.

But this won't work too much longer since vehicle brand identity (and vehicles period) aren't that interesting to very young generations.

Who said that Mini wasn't profitable?

Also, BMW and Mini have used shared platforms since at least 2014.

I don't see how I would take a car like that size to the track. I can see ppl doing it for quarter mile but u don't need a spoiler for that.

Saw a new 1 series in the flesh yesterday. It's no oil painting.
I feel disheartened by BMWs current set of designs. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, as the saying goes. They have tried to fix it and have lost their way.

This is embarrassing, i bet the M135i weighs over 3,500 lbs, the 2019 Golf GTI weighs around 3,100 lbs.

It does. The Golf is slightly shorter and at 3100 antique units it lacks auto and 4wd, but that only explains part of the difference. I guess BMW forgot to add lightness..

The massive new grille probably weighs 400lbs

More like the rear to me.

I could see most everything growing on me with time except for the big azz fugly front grills. That is a complete deal breaker.
