F10 metal lupms in oil pan mesh
Hi,
I got the oil pan resealed as it was leaking little oil on my F10 2013 520d ed. My mechanic saw some aluminum like lumps on oil pan mesh that goes to oil pump. We don't know what that is but looks like aluminum that was liquified and then hardened on the mesh(it is not magnetic). Car is on 170k km and I have recently added diesel additive for cleaning the injectors and stuff. Could that be that burned garbage that was joined together? Any ideas or similar situations? |

update: after taking them out looks like that pieces are rubberized, not metal. could be that additives that cleaned the engine caused these lumps to create from valve and injector soot

Could be excissive RTV/Silicone sealant. My guess would be someone got a little too frisky with the bottle and the excess squeezed out into the engine, later falling in the oil

Is it just me or when you zoom in does it look like almost every hole is plugged with dark grey material, not just the light grey goopy stuff? Or is that just a film of oil (which is grey instead of brown for some reason)?
