"Must-do's" when collecting a new car

Evening all,

I'm just curious if anybody has some "must do" things to a new car (or used but new to them) when they finally collect it.

I've today taken delivery of a facelift f10 525d. I normally go down the route of a good injector cleaner (the car usually comes with a full tank), followed by Shell V power, a good detail and finally an oil and filter change.

This is mainly down to always buying from a dealer and not knowing the previous owner - so I guess it's precautionary.

Anybody else like me? Or can add further things that can be done to ensure it's in the best possible condition

I tend to zero all trip meters & board computer data, so I get 'my' data, not someone else's. I also do a code read before I collect any car; most sellers are happy for this to be done once they know you're serious about the car.

Zeroing trips is another thing I do. I've been known before to remove the negative battery terminal for a little while to completely zero the car ha

That won't remove any codes though, hence I fire up INPA & do that at the start / periodically afterwards.

I always run a can of PowerBoost through the engine, then get it TerraClean and finally a K+N panel replacement.
