Low Oil after 2k

Had a oil change just under 2k ago. Oil level shows just above the MIN (Still in green) it was at about half mark for sometime. I assumed it would be at MAX for at least 4-5k. I know there is small leak from pan gasket and I am not seeing anything on the floor.

Not sure if it is 1. Normal, 2. leaking somewhere excessively, or 3. Burning oil excessively. If this was the case say after 4-5k, would not be an issue as I would change it then anyway.

Not a good way to gauge leakage.
The belly pan can hold quite a bit.
With that small of leakage it wouldn't show but a drop or two.
The rest would spill out during higher speeds.
Take the pan off and have a good visual.

Sounds like your burning a little bit of oil probably not even enough to be to worried about. My car went from full to the half mark on a 2k mile trip which is only half a quart which is about normal for all the bmw's I've had in the past.

So after 2500 miles, the add quart message came up. After I added, the level was back at max. So since I change oil at 5k, buring a quart 2-2.5k might be ok.

What 5 series do you have? Maybe that could explain more.

Do you smell any burning oil inside the car? How many miles are on the car?

I don't know... Neither of our 535i's burn any oil between changes.

I've had a valve cover and oil filter housing replaced on mine. No oil burning between oil changes either
