Slotted vs. Drilled

Which is better? I've got a DINAN Stg 2 550 GT... I don't really do any serious track racing or anything like that, but I do use it for daily driving and sometimes little power here and there. So what's better, slotted or drilled? I've heard some say drilled reduce fade and help brake faster, but more prone to cracking, while slotted is stronger, but isn't as helpful as drilled... Or both? Let me know down below. Thanks.

If you're not tracking, it doesn't matter.

If you are tracking, then slotted is considered better since you can have stress cracks around the holes.
Cross drilled looks better, but that's about it.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

^^ what he said.

You will never use the brakes hard enough on the street to make them fade unless you are driving around like a complete lunatic. Go with high quality rotors in a style you prefer.

Thanks Alan and aus... Well if my brakes need changing, I love the style of the slotted so probably those.

good luck finding a set other than Bembro's to fit the F10 especially the 550i. So far I've seen nothing in my search. Let us know what you find.

Well actually R1 Rotors in Cali sell aftermarket brake discs... But they said they will take my brakes and slot them (as well as zinc coat) so sounds good so far!
