Wasn't able to locate anything on regarding this so thought I'd ask.
I have a 2011 535i. While working on the oil pan the electromechanical power steering (EPS) motor was removed from the steering rack. Didn't think much of it at the time but after reinstalling there is a nasty sound coming from the steering motor when turning the wheel. It only happens when the car is on the ground and engine running, leading me to believe that is the issue. Engine off and car in the air doesn't cause the sound. Engine on and car in air doesn't cause the sound. Engine off and on the ground doesn't cause the sound. I'm guessing the reinstallation wasn't done properly.
Does anyone have any tips on properly reinstalling the EPS motor?
