Idrive screen dead spots - need replacement

Hello all.

I have a 2016 BMW 535d. The Idrive screen has 4 dead spots across the top, each approx the size of a nickel. It was this way when I bought it used; I knew I would have to address it eventually. I need to source a replacement screen, but I'm not sure where to look or exactly what to look for. I would like to replace it with the same model screen, not upgrade to Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Can you kind folks please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

What HU system do you have? I believe the only two options you’ll have is either the CIC with the small screen that has a large bezel, or the NBT with the larger screen and a skinny bezel.

If it’s the NBT screen you’re likely looking around $200 for a used screen.

You can always go to a site like getbmwparts and enter your VIN then go through the comments to find what you have. There are other sites as well like this. You may also be able to call a local BMW dealership and ask the oarts counter for a part number based on your VIN to verify.

I have the NBT. I think I've sourced the correct one on ebay. Any ball park idea on what this might cost from a BMW dealer, if they're even available still?

SWFLf10, I tried to respond to your PM, but I don't think it went through because of how new my account is. I'm interested in what you asked about.
