F10 BMW ALPINA B5 Bi-Turbo teased ahead of reveal @ Goodwood Festival Of Speed!
The Alpina B5 has always been a sort of special car, elegant, fast and distinctive all at the same time. Its no wonder that the upcoming Alpina B5 has had a pre-release following similar to a series BMW. The car has been tracked through development spyshot after spyshot, artists even attempted to render the car to guess at what it would look like. Thankfully, it seems the car is now set for its release and showing to the world at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 1 - 4, 2010). The car itself is of course based on the 6th generation BMW 5-Series, and for ALPINA too this will be their 6th generation B5. As the name implies, this car will be a twin-turbo and as Alpina mentions, there will be an eye towards fuel economy with this car... atleast a little. As of now, they remain tight lipped on specs, but have released this teaser image out into the wild. Guess we will find out more about this little beast in July! |

I really hope they just go with regular mesh on the lower front grill. Whatever they have going now looks aweful. Also, I hope they sort out the 8speed because, from test drives, I find that it "hunts" way too much.
I also hope it comes stateside

They put the same wheels, same bodykit and same stickers on every car. Why do they need a teaser?

what do you even know? LOL
Once they loose those grills on the bottom, thats what i call a show stopper. I really cant wait to see how they outfit the interior, THATS gonna be EPIC. Hats off to a fantastic tuner.

i had an opinion, so what?
You have a 320 and a SUV and both of them are sportscar wannabe? wtf can you possibly know then? Alpina lives off BMW's accomplishment, i have no problem with that. But they keep reminding people that they're the MAKER of the cars they sell. I simply don't take that kinda crap. Their cars are probably "nicer" in certain ways over factory, but for the premium i would rather buy a Porsche. O and that's exactly what i did. |

And please, by all means, enjoy that Porsche. Which one you got? Its silly your upset about alpina claiming they make their cars.... If thats what your fussing about, then enjoy getting your panties in a bunch. Its just marketing, welcome to the world we live in. Also, you will have to excuse my poor 320i, i live in a country where i dont feel like paying 200,000 USD for a sports car on an island. But im a loyal BMW customer, I wont buy any other brand. I need a car, not a toy, im not going through a mid life crisis, nor do i need to over compensate for anything. Id take my E90 M3 over any porsche in the sub $140,000 range, thanks.

i bought an M Coupe 10 years ago. That was pretty hardcore for a BMW, but i wasn't a fan of BMW, let alone being loyal. BMW, Merc, Porsche etc., every one of them tends to fuxk up every once in a while so why would i stick to the same brand? It's just blind faith to believe that the same car maker will consistently make the best in class. Or if you don't believe in it but remain steadfast in such loyalty then it's just idiotic. Having said that, it's your money, if you're the happiest with your loyal purchase then seriously wtf do i know. But I ain't gonna do the same.
I just bought a F10 535 for what it is, not because it's a BMW. If the A6 and the F10 swap badges then i would have bought the "A6". |

Alpina doesn't stop at "slapping couple of parts" and calling it a day. Any monkey can do that; but for a company that spends hours of R&D on what is perfect, and reperfecting it says a whole lot. I don't buy a BMW for a show. I buy BMW because what it has to offer and deliver. I've been always a fan of BMW since the introduction of M1. Things went forward, and I never changed my opinion about BMW. Let's just leave it at that. |

I am loyal to BMW because I believe in their philosiphy, and applaud how they make it come to life in their vehicles. I see it like this, they are the best, most practical, premium cars for people with a realistic wallet. Audi? garbage. Merc? Luxury/boat like. Porsche? impractical/toy like. Aston Martin? Perfect but unattainable. BMW? fucking awesome in every category. Delivering a quality product that can easily be incorperated in ones daily life and serve as an absolute pleasure, no, Joy. It is safe to say at any given time, BMW has at least 2 cars that I am more than willing to purchase. As far as SUV's go, BMW is king IMHO (Hence the X5M), As far as Sedans go, they dominate (M5, & M3). As far as coupes go, they impress (Z4M & M6). Thanks to BMW's M division, they have managed to kick some ass. To me, all of these cars are the best and beat their competition by far. I would never need to look at any other brand. For what. They reflect my tastes perfectly. I couldnt think of a finer interior than an M3's for every day life. But with the finishing touches of Alpina, ohhhh lord.... Then you enter a whole new level of luxury an comfort. Then you transform this performance driven beast that also has the finest quality, super supple leather that caresses your ass. God damn, what more could you want?

it is ironic that every German car manufacturer always try to use M3s' as a benchmark. We all know that MB tried that with their C190 AMG Evolution against E30 M3 and Audi had the S2. Then Again, MB tried it with their C36, and Audi S4 2.7 TT when the E36 M3 was out. Then again, Merc tried it in C32 and Audi, S4 V8 when the E46 M3 was out. And on and on we go. It is a never ending story. Last edited by positiveions; 06-16-2010 at 10:56 PM.. |

looks like you're well absorbed by BMW's marketing without your own thinking. where do you see the resemblance between the f10 and the e60 except for general dimension and pricing? BMW snapped the 5er badge on the f10 only because the bloodline needs to continue for the "tradition" so that the marketing people can have something to brag about. Not saying it's a bad thing, but i don't think one should be buying or praising a car for what happened in the past. and no, i am not the funny guy here. and i don't need backup for my view. |

You know what, the more I look at that front lip the more I like it. It brings together elements of the e60 M5 and e92 aero lip. I really like it. Now I just hope they stick to mesh instead of those aweful plastic inserts.
I'm also a big fan of the Alpina wheels, always have been
