New Injectors Good For 600+hp

Well god gave us a bonus. If your looking to upgrade turbos and dont want to do port injection these injectors just came out for the s55 but can be used for n55s as well. I just ordered a set. 1200cc factory injectors that will work for MHD and tuned by David Shoup. Can handle FULL E85.

So you would just need an upgraded HPFP then, right?

So PS2 + HPFP + S55 Injectors w/e85 = 600+hp?

If so, the N55 platform is truly starting to take off…

Lpfp, e85 lines, e85 sensor, lpfp controller, tune… I am looking at about 4K after the ps2 install to get there.

Oh, clutch/transmission upgrades too.

This makes the F10 M5 seem cheap than.

My 15' 535xi was $22k
+PS2 approx $4k
+The $4k you mentioned
+DP+MHD+Intercooler approximately $1.5k
= $30k-$35k

Pick up an M5 for $35-$45k…. Decisions decisions….

Yeah if you buying 535i now at 22k price tag and wanna do all the above you mentioned then m5 better choice to start with. If your 535i is paid off then it is a no brainer to go with mods.

Plus I don't think you will get an m5 with low mileage at the 35-45k price tag... probably be ready for some repair bills on that car.

Agreed, It all depends on where you are at.

535 6sp 80k miles - 14,500
Used ps2 - 1450

Do all the work yourself… way ahead of the game!

yes sir and more great news. Dorsch is coming out with stage 3 pump. 115% increase. That means more flow than the fx 180.

Sadly I can't put that hpfp since I am running continental style hpfp so my only route is port injection.

yea, our old school pumps... I wonder what it would take to convert to these newer styles? Hardware, programming?

Probably gonna need wiring and a separate controller for controlling the pump. Or you can try the new ecu but probably gonna be a nightmare getting that working right.

I would think on the software side of things a tune could help… interesting subject. I am curious.

With all the time and money spend on that it would be better to just do port.

Well it not just the tune. The software might be different and such could cause problems trying to tie everything to your car. Unless someone can make it all work without an issue. But in my experience it never works nicely.

Convo with Chris @ Dorch:

What is available for the n55 with the old style continental brand pump? Is there a way to modify your current stage 2 to make it compatible? Please let me know. Thanks!

---

Unfortunately we don’t have anything compatible with the N54 style continental pumps. In theory our kits would bolt up using a newer N55 vacuum pump housing, but the electronics wouldn’t have any way to control the system.

---

Thanks-
Is there a module off of the DME specific to this new style pump that could be added or is it a system a tuner could control? I am working with David Shoup and there are a lot of n55’s on the old Fuel pump that would love to get a solution worked out. I wouldn’t mind helping pioneer this as it would open up a new segment of business if we had a working proof of concept. Thoughts? Thanks for your time.

---

The two systems don’t work on the same principles. Physically it’s a matter of swapping vacuum pump assemblies, adding a sensor that doesn’t exist, and driving an entirely different solenoid. Beyond that, it’s a complete overhaul of the DME logic to control it. It’s most likely far too big of a software undertaking to be worthwhile, but that’s beyond what we do. That’s probably a question for MHD.

---

I asked DS his thoughts... and exactly what you said, if it's just less effort to go PI at this point...

not that much all depends on where you get the parts from.

Spoke to David and he said he will be doing the changes to the injectors. I ordered mines Last week. Waiting to break in the motor and do my 3rd revision before i drop them in. Only problem i worried about is if one goes bad... i have to have an extra as a quick replacement.

I would keep your setup and run port. Plenty of N54s with that old school pump making hella power. Theres a 535i in Texas E series on a 6266 making 700+. Get the motiv reflex for extra safety and control the port.

That... my goal figure out dual lpfp solution.

+ bmp4 fuel module
+ port injection kit
+ motiv reflex
+ e85 line with sensor.

Where did you get the line with sensor for $250? Spools is almost 400 dollars.

3k+ job lol then onto sending trans and torque converter to pure transmission for upgrade plus transfer case clutch upgrade/rebuild.

Then upgrade axels to hold extra power from stop light launches lol before they bent.

DS told me to do a manifold injection so the injectors are angled correctly, so add that vs the rail.

For clutch on MT 550 clutch is compatible and 300 bucks at fcp euro. I am going that route.

I am doing the manifold route with fuel line that piggy backs off of main line coming from tank then split into hpfp and port injectors. For me being an auto would require more then just clutch upgrade.

One lpfp pump can supply both port and direct injection? What size lpfp are you running and what size injectors?
