help, BM3 install issue

anybody had any issue installing BM3 with a Samsung device or Android. I have a Samsung note 9 and having trouble with activation, keep getting an error. I changed the ethernet ip settings to recommend and still not work. Any help would be thankful. Contacted BM3 support but they haven't gotten back to me so I thought I post something here.

Make sure chrome browser is installed... I had trouble activating MHD because Chrome wasn't installed. Something with Google account sync with Chrome browser.

I had similar problem, make sure you are using Google Chrome...I had went through 2 different OBD cables also, they seem to be very unreliable..

I placed my order with X-ph so hopefully my enet cable and my phone adapter is good. Going to uninstall the BM3 app and try on Chrome instead. Last resort would be either use a laptop or my wife's iPhone if I can't get this to work on my phone.

You don't have to use Chrome per say just make sure Chrome is installed and set as default browser.

PTF only officially support Chrome, so ideally just use Chrome.

Thanks for all the help. After many attempts I still couldn't get it to work with my Samsung note 9 and PTF support didn't get back to me because it's the weekend so had to ask the wife for her iPhone out of desperatation. Even with iPhone I was still having some issues where I was losing/dropping internet connection. I successfully activated my account and only "download, flash later" the OTS tune and haven't had the chance to flash my car yet, too scared I might lose connection and mess up my car. Waiting on support response.

lol, you are correct!!! Hope they get it fix soon..

Flashed the car just now and WOW. I was in sport+ and my tires( Michelin pilot sport A/S 3+) was still losing traction in second gear. Love the transmission tune and how it slams into each gear.

Going to wait a few months until I get use to it than go stage 2.

Quick, question guys!! My inspection is due next month, will I be able to pass inspection on stage 1 or will I have to flash back to stock and relock DME? If I do have to flash back to stock how long or many miles do I need to drive before bringing it into the station?

I'm in NJ and I pass inspection with BM3 still on.

It actually works on new Samsungs very well there's just a secret way to get it working. Once you learn how to use it then it will be no issues. I have the s21 ultra so the process will be similar. So after you change the ethernet settings you might be thinking your are all set but in reality, once you change the IP settings you then go to settings and click hotspot and then enable Ethernet tethering once that engages it will 100% work. No hotspot plan is needed for it to work just make sure enet is plugged in and slide to engage the Ethernet tethering. Bm3 has this listed but it's just deeper in the user manual about these newer Samsungs.

I've taken to just using their firmware for the raspberry pi 3. It turns the pi into a linux based WIFI ENET adapter.

didn't try the ethernet tethering since my phone (note 9) is running android version 10 and the setting is only recommended for android 11 and up but would give it a try when I get time around to mess with it again.

Try turning mobile data off. I've found that the buggy ass mobile app has issues deciding which data interface to search for the enet connection on, so if you have mobile data on it'll sometimes search for your car assuming that the mobile data is the enet connection lmfao

I've since given up on the mobile app. If I need live data, I use BimmerLink. If I need logging or flashing, I'll just use my laptop or an old iPad I have lying around. The android app is literally too buggy to use.
