Limp mode to Bmw

I thought this would be an appropriate first post on the forums. I'm taking my 528i to Sacramento to go in the shop for the first time since I've had it. Started to get a code (p1290) which puts my car in limp mode I replaced the said faulty sensor but the code is back and won't go away. So if anyone has any insight on this that would be greatly appreciated and wish me luck.

I did recently put a bov on it could that have caused the code to go off
