Help! any solution to F10 535i engine stop while driving.
the car is 2011/03 F10 535i, the engine hesitate during idle when start up and few times it stopped while I was driving when starting from traffic light.
sent the car to BMW service (in Taiwan), they claimed no problem, changed f/w few times and asked German technician came over, but outcome remains. is this a commom problem for N55? or just my luck? |

Not that this would be related to your issue, but my last car, (an audi), would do something similar. Engine would loose power intermittently while driving. Turned out the cause was due to a faulty brake light sensor. The sensor would erroneously sense that I'm applying the brake, and then the computer would reduce power to the engine. Once the brake sensor was replaced, never experienced the issue again. Again, probably not the same issue as yours, but the point is that these cars have so much automation that it's possible that an electrical fault somewhere could cause the engine to behave unexpectedly. However, my guess is that a 2011 F10 535 has a hell of a lot more diagnostic capability than my old 2006 Audi A4, and thus something like what I described would have been picked up by the tech.
