Does anyone have a step by step guide to replacing the hard drive on an F10? Anyone done this themselves? If so love to hear your about your experience.

You should be able to run the DD command in linux and copy all the files then resize the partition. Windows will write files when it is opened where as linux doesnt touch anything unless you do it.

I've swapped the Hard drive out for an SSD - zero issues since I carried out the swap back in Sept 2016.

Do you have the NBT or the CIC unit? I have NBT and a spare SSD laying around so I may try it soon. I will look into this further and share if I find anything.

Bimmerfest has a large post on this with Tokenmaster. It seems to be quite involved process from a software side. The HDD is locked and using a special file system. They have figured out the passwords and the other issues though. PM me if you want the link since I cant post it here.

Can a HDD be added if the car does not have one? I have no NAV either.
