Here's links to E-Sys on usenet and Rapidshare. I can't guarantee how long the link on Rapidshare will last, so get it while you can.
The program works and I've been successful in coding auto fold mirrors, trunk close from inside button and key fob, and auto close of windows and sunroof with key fob. You can also unlock DVD in motion and turn off many of the notifications (i.e seat belt chime etc.) You'll need to build an interface cable (OBD to ethernet), or buy one on eBay when they become available. Overall better than paying someone to code your vehicle. Read the .nfo for more information. PM me if you need any help getting a cable built. I also have some "how-to program" using E-sys pdf's if anyone needs them. Rapidshare: The Rapidshare links have been removed thanks to our fellow enthusiasts in the BMW community. Oh well. E-Sys
Good question. Should have started out with that...I guess.
E-Sys is the program that is used to reprogram the modules in the F-series vehicles. In other words, if you want to program your mirrors to fold when you hold your remote button, or close the trunk with the key fob you do it using e-sys and a specialized cable (ethernet to OBDII). This is the first sighting of the program and activation tools to get communication with the car. Sean |

Easy Cable Build Instructions
I wanted to post some easier to follow cable instructions for those that don't read schematics. My hope is more people will attempt to code their own cars. The only cable I've seen out on ebay is $50.00 and that's ridiculous. It will cost you about $10 to $15 if you have basic soldering skills and order the parts. You could also just buy a standard ethernet patch cable and cut one end off and solder the open ends to the OBD2 connector.

It's actually pretty easy to use once you've used it once or twice. The instructions are out there.
You can find them by searching for "E-Ssys - Getting_Started-Coding.pdf" without quotes in google. This search will take you to a russian website. Use google chrome to translate then signup and download the files. I can't post the url to the site (Bimmerpost won't allow it) that the "how-to's" came from but credit to Modular93fox and the other users that created the documents so others could learn. Sean |

Thanks everyone! I just ordered my car this past weekend - wont be in for 6 weeks but figured I'd start prepping... Screwed up and bought the ODB cable for the older cars so I'm down $100 so far...
Since this is all new to me - I'm really lousy with a Solder is there anywhere to buy the ethernet to odb cable yet? Also I'm searching for "E-Ssys - Geting_Started-Coding.pdf" on google and nothings coming up... Any help would be appreciated! |

BMW F-series ENET cable (required for BMW F01, F02, F10 remote coding services) http://www.codecard.lt/electronics/t.../prod_651.html Attached is the E-Sys - Getting Started: Coding.pdf. The document password (PW) is at the end of the file name.

Having spent all morning reading and getting the appropriate tools installed - How do you know what code to change for the DVD in Motion or the automatic mirrors? Is there a master list somewhere or do you have to get lucky?? I looked on BMWcoders.com as well... maybe I'm just dense?
Thanks again - Not easy being the newbie.. |

Thank you and appreciated.. It seems that my current IP address does not allow me to access to the files. I had tried another network and it is working.
