Brakes

Ok so there are so many posts. I'm thinking about the power stop crossdrilled z23s front and back. Anyone have experience and/or a thread reference?

I've had cross-drilled a couple of times. I would never do it again. Both sets (one was PowerStop) developed micro-cracks at the holes. They are for looks only. I would go with slotted rotors.

Do you plan on tracking the car? If not, plain rotors/pads will last longer than slotted rotors. If you are driving the car in a way that you need to upgrade the brakes, look into the 550i or 760i brake swaps.

No not tracking. Just about time to do my brakes (50k), I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. Just upgraded rotors for better stopping power. Already bought the brake lines so I'll do that at the same time. Daily driver with a tendency to push for fun from time to time.

Do you guys change the rotors even if the thickness is still in spec?

So would you piece a set together or go off the shelf here. Not a track car, daily driver with a tendency to appropriately have fun

From the Power Stop application guide, these are described as OE 2-piece design, and it seems like the description of all Z23 kits indicates the rotors will be drilled and slotted.

Experience with Power Stop cast 1-piece rotors: 2002 A4, 2007 MDX, both with those rotors. I like I'm just fine!

I ordered a set, but they're not delivered yet. Pics will go up when they come in.
