Is is just me??

IS it just me or are there way too many negative posts from people that do not drive F10's on this F10 specific posting forum?? Just seems like everyother day me and a couplle of guys are fighting tooth and nail against negative posts by others. If you want to bad mouth the car start another forum. Or at least do it in a different area not right in the F10 specific forum.... Just my two cents......

I noticed that as well...but hey relax, you cannot 'win' an internet discussion: been there done that.

Just ignore those posts more or less.

You're not alone and it looks like we have Robin Hood on our side too; perhaps we should join his band of Merry Men and form the 'Glass-Half-Full' club

I'm sure there are going to be different opinions, as there are for any car. I'm positive the F10/11 cars are the best 5-series ever, just need to get the spec we are happy with.

Just yesterday was sharing in a topic with a guy who 'back to back' tested the 520d manual and auto. Was so disappointed with the auto, so he ordered the manual. We suggested he go back and try the auto again, as his experience was not what others had found. Encouraged him to ensure the car was configurerd as he'd want, in i-Drive. Comes back later, changed his order to the auto, as when configured differently in i-Drive, was driving as he wanted, particularly when toggled to the sport setting. Wonder how many others are not getting a fair opinion, as the configurations are not played with.

Another point, the manual and auto had a different feel, the auto was 'twitchy' going around roundabouts, at the same speed as the manual. Both cars had 18" wheels, but I asked him to check for differences. The manual was on Dunlop, same size on all four corners, the auto was a staggered set up and running Conti's. 275's on the rear. So again a slight change in tyre sizing can completely mess the dynamics.

I'm off to try the 'full cream' version tomorrow, F10 530d with 'Adaptive Drive' for a few hours. So I'll be coming back with some more experience and opinion. Hope to get a drive in the touring as well, as I've booked a drive at the launch.

Most critical postings comes from people who doesn't own an F10/11. Owners usually post more informed oppinions where very specific topics like wheel choice etc. are discussed and this will benefit potential buyers. Very few, if any, owners have a lot of complaints about their car. Can't wait to get mine.

I agree there are too many negative posts against the F10. I totally love my new 535i. It is a great car in all dimensions. I ordered it even without a test drive and I have no regrets.

Once I corrected the tire pressures, both the steering and handling got even better. For my personal taste, F10 is a perfect blend of sport and luxury. Well done BMW.

I have no regrets from moving on up from E90. Bye bye E90 and hello F10

Time to enjoy F10 now

Thanks to all the F10 owners for posting all these positive thoughts and messages on this great vehicle. The F10 is truly in a class of its own. To those who are lucky enough to own one enjoy it. To those who are waiting for theirs, get ready to be envy of many people around town. And finally to those that dont habe one yet, dont worry be happy. BMW is still making them ....

Negative comments especially from those who have bought cars in the last 2 years but I'm open to debate with them on the objective or so called objective points

@ Fireman,

Good post and warranted. I feel very much the same way. I admit I am not much of an overanalyzer or a statcruncher, if my car is .018 better in the skid pad I can give a flip, I know and appreciate that to others this is important to know.

I base my judgment on the open road, around town or on the autobahn, not from some jaded reviewer. I could not be more pleased in the F10 overall performance then I am now. As a matter of fact, the one thing I think there is little to nit pick about is its performance. Some of the limitations of the navigation system, trunk closing to name a couple are much more of a factor then its drive and even those I have adjusted to and feel are obsolete concerns.

Lastly, I myself would not spend any time whatsoever on this forum if I determined that I was not going to buy an F10. Life is short and if I am not interested in it I wont spend my precious time discussing it. It really amazes me how many haters of the F10 remain active in this forum.

Anyway, thanks fireman for posting something that was on my mind as well.

Ps. Fireman, as a fellow F10 550 owner be confident in the fact that you truly own, within rare instances, the king of the road.

Thanks delvek... I agree with you completely. from there being too many active haters on the forum to the sheer joy of how good it feels to be inside this splendid vehicle. And remember WE own the king of the road. The beast of Bavaria...

I see them too, Just ignore them after all why would anyone care what they have to say about car they don't even own. Could be just jealousy if you ask me, I really dont care what some guy driving a 1988 BMW thinks about a car he don't own.
So ignore the haters and enjoy the ride.

drove a fully loaded f10 550 during BMW's UDE this past summer. They let me take the f10 by myself, the rep there let me know I was the last person of the day so I can spend a little more time driving if I wanted to. Of course I took the opportunity. That being said, I was able to drive the f10 hard like i do my e60. The 2 cars are definitely different. where one is more luxury and one is definitely more sport. I'm not sure I liked the less connected feel to the road of the f10 when compared to my current e60. I know that road connectivity is very subjective, but I can say for me personally that it was less present in the f10. Take that for what it's worth, but it's a common finding stated repeatedly.

Acceleration and powerband of the TT V8 is great, I haven't had a chance to test drive the f10 535i and check out the N55 engine, I'm hoping it feels as good as the n54 does in my e60 535i. Current comparisons are good tho, considering the increase in size and weight in the f10.

I think a lot of current e60 owners/drivers/leasees were very excited to see the launch of the f10 and it's evolution into an even better sports luxury sedan, those that are disappointed, feel like their expectations were/are let down are the ones griping. Again, all subjective measurements that will vary driver to driver.

Exterior looks I think are good, pictures definitely do not give the f10 justice, but on the road and/or in the flesh definitely show a great looking car. I am guilty of not being a fan of the e60 at first launch, but definitely came to appreciate it's lines, those that dislike the f10's look now will eventually come around....

I'm wondering how many of the current f10 supporters were also e60 drivers. It's seems pretty obvious BMW wants to capture a bigger and possibly different market with the f10. Of course a cars/models demographic needs to evolve with it's own evolution/maturation....

For those that think most of the bitching is from owners that don't even own f10, well that makes sense, as those are the ones vocalizing why they don't own one, on the opposite side those that support and praise the f10 are those that own one, no one wants to regret there purchase nor choose find negative aspects to their investment....

Not saying the f10 is a bad car, it's just different from previous models......

I know it's my 3rd one, but fold down seats? Someone needs to get fired over there. That's not an option in 2011 is a stardard feature in sub compacts costing 15k.

Never been any different, I go back to when even radios were an option, when other marques were fitting radios as standard.

But seriously, do we want it any different, or do we only want full spec' models, which would be pricing a lot of potential owners out of the new BMW market?

Being in the premium sector in Europe, we will never be seeing BMW complete with the likes of the average 'white goods' market.

I know it may irritate to have as options, features which even the low end of the market fit as standard, but we do have a 'pick and mix' ability within our own budget. Perhaps we are influenced by the thinking "more features mean better value". Even that is a marketing ploy.

+1 on that. BMW is a great machine, and I'm loving every minute in my F10. But, sometimes I do wish that I had certain options which I skimped on for money reasons. Most of the options can't be retro fitted even if I gather enough money to upgrade.
