Video: V1 Hardwire DIY Install F10 5
Hi guys,
I just posted a video here that shows how to hardwire (using the V1 hardwire kit) the radar detector in an F10 M5, should be the same for a non-M. I used green wire with the brown stripe on it to tap into. It was hard to access the ground bolt, but with a swivel accessory it is possible. I referenced this guide for help as well. - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=515517 Thanks to William for letting me use his car.

I just gave up and am now running the wiring like I did in our '12 535... Down the "A" pillar and into the fuse box. |

2020 update: just completed this for my 2016 535; I had to do just like in the video, and put a half washer on top of the ground wire and the grounding screw in order for their to be a full connection.
For the wire giving power, in the video he instructs to use the green/brown wire. This DID NOT work for me at all. I ended up using the thicker red/brown wire, and BOOM, my Valentine started up no problem.
