Dell Optiplex 390 Upgrade: HELP NEEDED
I am trying to upgrade a Dell Optiplex 390 and have a few questions:
The model is the i5-2400 with 8gb of RAM and 500gb HDD. 1.) Does the stock mobo support 120mm fans? 2.) Can I use a GTX 1060 with the stock mobo? 3.) Would the GTX 1060 warrant purchasing a higher watt power supply? Thanks for your help. |

If it's the slimline, most you can do is a GTX1050Ti/RX560 low profile, probably you can do that on the stock psu but we'd need more details for that. If it's the bigger one you can fit a 1060, but you'll most likely need a new PSU. As far as your fan question do elaborate, do you want a quieter cpu cooler?
And honestly, I'd say before doing anything get a SSD. that alone will be the most useful investment you'll be making on a 7 year old computer |
