AC Schnitzer springs

Just received my ACS springs from UPS today.

Quick question:

Regarding the springs (front end of car) with the rubberized tubing inserted around one end of the coils: Does the end of the spring, with the tubing around the coils, go towards the top or the bottom of the car?

In the meantime, i'm waiting on receipt of a staggered set of Morr MS8's with hand brushed and clear coated centers and step lips:

20 x 9F - w/ Michelin PSS 255/35/20

20 x 10.5R - w/ Michelin PSS 295/30/20

Can't wait!

The springs only fit one way though the end with tubing should be the top.

How long have you been waiting for your wheels? I'm just getting a little bit desperate waiting for mine (it's taking foreeverrrr), and want to see how long some people are waiting.

Ordered them about 2.5 weeks ago. They said 6-8 weeks. I know they've already begun working on them. Today they emailed me asking if I had any plans of adding a Brembo BBK. They said they would need to factor this in to the depth of the concave if so.

What set up did you order, SDf10?

What time frame did they estimate for yours?

Thanks for the response. I'm past my 9th week already , they told me 4-6 weeks. Hopefully you get them in the 6-8 week timeframe. I ordered some hand brushed and matte tinted vs8.2's. I will wait until this week to see if they are done, if not I might just cancel. Maybe buy a used set from the forum

It's a pain to have to wait. But, don't compromise or settle for something less than what you initally wanted. You've waited this long. Wait a little longer and get the rims you want. Hang in there. You will be happy for it in the end.

Hang in there guys! I've been waiting for my set for about 3 months. It's worth it though!

This may be a bit off topic. But do H&R springs come with this tubing? Do we need it there? What is it for?

What is causing them such a ridiculous delay? Are they simply getting inundated with new orders? And if that is the case, wouldn't you think they would be expanding their staff and resources to accommodate?

It was to overcome an issue associated exclusively with ACS springs. The top two coils of the springs, on the front end of the car, slightly touch each other. This creates a rattling noise while driving.

Alan I. experienced this after installing ACS springs on his new ride. He also came up with a creative solution to the problem.

He posted a thorough write up on it here:

Dang dude, 3 months!!?? I know their wheels are amazing, but there is no way I'm waiting 3 months for wheels. They told me I will get them next week for sure. We will see, if I don't have them on my car before bimmerfest, I'm canceling.

If I may ask, where did you order your ACS springs from and how much did you pay as I'm looking for a set? thanks.

Probably too many orders for a small business.

I've been told 6-8 weeks at the beginning. I didn't want to cancel the order after two months of waiting.
